Master Glass Blower John Barber created this star-shaped, glass sculpture for the recipients of the City’s Environmental Awards. Barber, a Laguna Beach local, is a pioneer of the Renaissance New Glass Movement. His one-of-a-kind works are created in the furnaces at the John Barber Studio located on Laguna Canyon Road, and at his art gallery, Studio Arts.

Laguna Ocean Foundation, Barnstormer Productions
and the Laguna Beach Visitors & Conference Bureau Receive
Prestigious Emmy Award...
The Laguna Ocean Foundation’s ‘Tidepool Scene’ produced by Barnstormer Productions and the Laguna Beach Visitors & Conference Bureau won the Emmy in the category of Children’s Programming. The Emmy Awards for the Pacific Southwest Region of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences were held on June 13 in San Diego, California.
Fred and Jan Sattler, Cheryl Procaccini, Chris Quilter, Calla Allison, Vivian Ecclefield, Chuck Everts Sound, and Judy Bijlani worked directly with Jeffrey Lehmann to develop this 7-minute educational video. It features the importance of protecting our exceptional natural resource, the tidepools of Laguna Beach. The feature short plays on in-room channels of many area hotels, is distributed to schools prior to their field trips to Laguna Beach, is showcased on several Web sites and has been shown on regional cable television.

Local Businesses and Individuals Honored
with City’s Prestigious Environmental Awards...
In April 2010, the City of Laguna Beach presented Environmental Awards to two recipients for their contributions to the environment within the last three years. The City’s Environmental Committee developed this program to recognize local efforts to preserve, conserve, restore, protect and enhance the environment in and around the City of Laguna Beach. The honorees were Cheryl Procaccini and the South Laguna community gardens.
